Vern
Peterschmidt To say that Vern has a lot of experience with Medicare cost reporting is an understatement. Starting
in 1966 Vern was a member of the initial Medicare audit team for hospitals in Iowa, becoming the supervisor for home health audits
in 1968. From there he never looked back. Working for fiscal intermediaries in Iowa, Oklahoma and New Mexico before
joining a national accounting firm and finally starting his own consulting firm in 1978. Vern has worked with hundrends of home health, hospital,
FQHC's and clinics all across the country, providing financial, organizational, payment, reimbursement, accounting and systems
consulting. Since 1992 he has given over 125 seminars, has presented at dozens of state association and National Association
of Home Care & Hospice (NAHC) conferences. Vern is a member of the NAHC committees on Cost Reporting, Standardized
Chart of Accounts and Education.
