1/26/2012 UPDATE:  I want to thank everyone for the feedback.  Due to the response we are planning multiple seminars thoughout the year.  The exact dates are still TBD but here are the basics.

Late March or early April 2012 in Las Vegas, "Putting Your Data to Work".  This seminar is designed to be an interactive education and working session.  All of the important industry updates and best practices will be reviewed, but the heart of this seminar is helping agencies understand their data.  Agencies will bring their data and learn to generate their specific critical metrics.  Be ready to work!

September 2012 in Austin (Tx), "Agency Self Reviews - The key to continuous improvement and lasting success."  This seminar also provides the latest updates on industry regulations, payment rates and other news.  The main focus of this seminar is to educate agencies on how to perform critical internal reviews and create a strategic improvement plan that addresses the financial and operational issues limiting their success.  There is always room, in any community, for a well run home care agency.  Make sure you are one of the well run agencies.

Exact times and dates will be published as they are available.  ALSO, look for our upcoming articles on the business of home health care in the Kinnser blog and our presentations at several state and national association conferences.  More to come!  Steve

State of the Industry

Medicare reimbursement changes, increased gov't oversight, increased cost pressures and increased competition from large chain organizations are the reality of home care and hospice going forward. Gone are the days of focusing on the patient and letting the finances take care of themselves. Patient care is still the reason we are all in this industry, but efficient and knowledgeable management is required to successfully support quality patient care and keep the doors open.  That is where PHMC comes in. We provide the tools and support that medium and small agencies need to succeed.

EXPERIENCE is the Difference

Vern has been involved with the home care and hospice industry since shortly after the inception of Medicare in 1965.  Over 40 years of financial and management experience coupled with his first-hand experience starting and running a successful home care agency make Vern one of the authorities on medium and small agency in the United States.

Core Belief

  • Home care and hospice are vital segments of the health care continuum.
  • Medium and small providers are the backbone of the home care and hospice industries.
  • The label of "medium" or "small" does not mean "less professional" or unable to compete with "large"
  • PHCM can help any home care agency preserve & grow their long term equity value.
